It allows for precise tolerances and rapid response to individual design requirements without the need for mold manufacturing. Typicky jde o atypick\u00e9 rozm\u011bry, nestandardn\u00ed profily, nedostupnost origin\u00e1ln\u00edho d\u00edlu nebo specifick\u00e9 provozn\u00ed podm\u00ednky (tlak, teplota, chemick\u00e1 odolnost).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Machining enables:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>mold-free production \u2013 zero costs for molds and other production preparation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>flexible design changes during production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>high repeatability thanks to CNC control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>economical production starting from just 1 unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike molded seals, there is no need to invest in expensive molds (typically tens to hundreds of thousands of CZK with a preparation time of several weeks), which is crucial for prototyping or small series. However, thanks to automation elements in machining, this method can be economically and time-efficient even for larger series of parts in the thousands of units. <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/en\/contact\/\">Request a quote for seal manufacturing<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Materials for seal manufacturing and their properties<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A wide range of technical materials is used for seal manufacturing via machining (we have more than 80 in <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/en\/cat\/seals-for-hydraulics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our portfolio<\/a>). The most commonly used materials include the following categories: <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/en\/cat\/seals-pur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polyurethane<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A material that excels in a combination of excellent mechanical properties, high resistance to abrasion and wear, elasticity, high tensile strength, and other parameters. It is hydrolysis-resistant and can therefore be used for long-term contact with water. Selected types are FDA-certified and can be used in the food industry. Due to its properties, it is the most frequently used material for seal manufacturing.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elastomery &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-nbr\/\" data-type=\"kategorie\" data-id=\"5\">NBR<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-epdm\/\" data-type=\"kategorie\" data-id=\"6\">EPDM<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-fpm\/\" data-type=\"kategorie\" data-id=\"7\">FPM<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A group of rubber materials that have lower hardness and greater flexibility and elastic properties. Different types vary in chemical and temperature resistance as well as mechanical properties. Given these characteristics, these materials are often used for less stressed sealing elements and low-hardness seals.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">T\u011bsn\u011bn\u00ed <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-ptfe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTFE<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a fluoroplastic with exceptional chemical and thermal resistance that exceeds most other plastics. It is resistant to almost all aggressive substances and finds applications in the food industry. Thanks to its excellent dry-running properties, it is ideal for seals and guide elements operating at low lubrication and high feed speeds. The weakness of PTFE is lower abrasion resistance and a tendency toward &#8220;cold flow,&#8221; which can be suppressed by using fillers such as bronze, glass fibers, carbon, or MoS\u2082 \u2013 therefore, these filled variants are often used for hydraulic applications.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-plasty\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/kategorie\/tesneni-plasty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Technick\u00e9 plasty<\/a> pro v\u00fdrobu t\u011bsn\u011bn\u00ed<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technical plastics such as POM (polyoxymethylene), PA (polyamide), UHMW-PE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene), or reinforced fabric laminates are proven materials with wide-ranging uses. These thermoplastics and composites are characterized by high pressure resistance, low friction, good wear resistance, and the ability to operate even during emergency dry runs. Skladem si udr\u017eujeme \u0161irokou z\u00e1sobu z\u00e1kladn\u00edch materi\u00e1l\u016f abychom dok\u00e1zali operativn\u011b a flexibiln\u011b reagovat i na urgentn\u00ed po\u017eadavky.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Resealing a hydraulic cylinder \u2013 immediate production<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assignment:<\/strong> <br\/>A customer had an urgent need to reseal a hydraulic cylinder for a forestry machine \u2013 a harvester. The cylinder had a significant hydraulic fluid leak and reduced performance. They brought the disassembled hydraulic cylinder to us in the morning.   <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Material:<\/strong><br\/>H-PU 95 Sh.A, POM-C, PTFE+Bronze<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong><br\/>We measured the cylinder and manufactured a new set of seals. This involved several different sealing elements, with one unit required for each. Everything was completed in approximately 2 hours, allowing the customer to put the machine back into operation that afternoon and continue working. The hydraulic cylinder was fully functional again.    <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Automotive industry \u2013 custom seal cups<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assignment:<\/strong> <br\/>A company specializing in custom car modifications contacted us with a need for an atypical seal to be used in an engine turbocharger and exposed to high temperatures.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Material:<\/strong><br\/>FPM (Viton)<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong><br\/>Based on the provided drawing, we programmed an atypical sealing profile and manufactured 5 units. Due to the temperature requirements, we used <a href=\"https:\/\/reontech.cz\/en\/material\/fpm-82-sh-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FPM<\/a> material (temperature resistance up to 220\u00b0C).  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Hydraulic cylinder seals \u2013 series production, custom solution<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Assignment:<\/strong> <br\/>A hydraulic cylinder manufacturer needed seals for their series production. Various atypical sizes, materials, and designs were required. Series ranging from dozens to several hundred units.  <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Material:<\/strong><br\/>H-PU, NBR, EPDM, FPM, PTFE<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong><br\/>Based on the customer&#8217;s design requirements, we proposed a custom solution. According to current production projects, we manufactured various sizes and quantities in batches of up to several hundred units. Delivery time: 1 week.   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comparison of Machining and Molding<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Machining is particularly suitable for smaller series, but it often finds its place in series production as well.
