PE
Polyethylene (PE) is one of the most widely used technical plastics due to its chemical resistance, low weight, and good sliding properties.
The material is tough, wear- and impact-resistant, non-absorbent, and highly resistant to chemicals. It also has excellent dielectric properties and a low coefficient of friction. Because of this, it is ideal for manufacturing machine components, conveyor and sliding elements, guide rails, protective linings, and parts for the food and chemical industries.
Compared to other technical plastics, PE has lower stiffness and temperature resistance, but its versatility, ease of machining, and favorable price/performance ratio compensate for this.
Common trade names include: Polystone, Tivar, PROlen, Ertalyte.
