PVDF
PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a semi-crystalline, opaque thermoplastic fluoropolymer that exhibits excellent chemical resistance, high hardness, temperature resistance, and rigidity. The material also has very high resistance to UV radiation and weathering effects.
Unlike other fluoropolymers, such as PTFE, PVDF offers better mechanical properties, high abrasion resistance, easier processing, and lower specific weight. Due to these properties, it is ideal for use in the chemical industry, particularly for anti-corrosion protection and applications requiring contact with very pure water or aggressive chemicals.
The material has excellent insulating properties, is non-toxic, and withstands temperatures from 0 to 140°C for extended periods. The melting point of PVDF is 178°C. Typical applications include pump housings, insulating components, filter plates, valves, and seals.
