Graphite gasket plates, graphite gaskets

We offer graphite gaskets and graphite sealing plates.

Graphite sealing plates are designed for the most demanding industrial applications.
Thanks to their high temperature stability and high chemical resistance, they are used in cases where conventional fibreboards (our range here) do not work.
Graphite seals are thus suitable for the steam area, for example. More info here.

Graphite plates and graphite seals are available in several variants:
Graphite foil without insert
Gratite sealing plate with smooth stainless steel insert
Graphite sealing plate with spiked or perforated insert

By using an insert, the graphite gasket with insert achieves excellent pressure resistance even at high ambient temperature.

In addition to whole plates, we also supply customized graphite gaskets.
We use the technology of cutting on CNC plotter or waterjet cutting to process the material (more details here)

Graphite seals are produced according to standardized standards according to DIN, CSN, ANSI but also as atypical dimensions and shapes according to customer’s drawing documentation.

Sigraflex Economy

Reinforced graphite sealing plate with stainless steel plate insert.

Usage:

  • As a flat seal for pumps and valves, especially for tiny sealing thicknesses.
  • For gas farms and off-shore technology.
  • For flat seals according to DIN2690 for flanges with smooth sealing strip, for low operating pressures up to 25 bar and medium specific pressures σBO up to 60 N/mm2. If the seals are subjected to low temperatures during operation, the σBO may be higher.
  • For corrosive media, but limited by the stainless steel foil and adhesive layer.

Features:

  • With stainless steel tipped plate insert, very easy to handle.
  • Soft, pliable.
  • Slight permeability to gases and liquids, even at low specific pressures.
  • Applicable from the lowest temperatures up to over 500 °C depending on operating and installation conditions:
    • in an inert environment up to approx. 500 °C
    • Steam tested up to approx. 550 °C
    • in air and oxidizing media from approx. 400 °C – contact us for more information
  • Good resistance to chemicals
  • Asbestos-free, health-safe
  • Resistant to aging and embrittlement, free of binders
  • Long-term stable compressibility and cushioning over a wide temperature range.
  • No measurable cold or hot flows occur at the recommended specific pressures
  • Thin adhesive layer ≤ 10 μm, chloride-poor.

Sigraflex Standard

  • Can compensate for larger unevenness of sealing surfaces

Sigraflex Universal

Sealing plate made of impregnated graphite. Fire safe test to BS 6755

Basic description:

  • As a flat seal according to DIN 2690 for flanges with smooth sealing strips. It is recommended as a one-piece. Over DN900 double layer in segments.
  • Preferably for flanges with tongue and groove according to DIN 2691. Up to DN 900 a one-piece arrangement is recommended, from DN 1000 onwards a two-layer segmented arrangement.
  • For high operating pressures up to 100 bar and for high specific pressures up to 140 N/mm2
  • For blowout-proof, securely sealing and highly stressed sealing joints, in stainless steel inner lining.
  • For piping with corrosive media at high temperatures. Heat transfer oil media and thermal equipment. For old equipment, tanks and steam pipes. For exhaust manifolds.
  • Very good chemical resistance therefore for corrosive media. Restriction by stainless steel plate insert.
