FFKM O-rings

The most resistant material for the production of O-rings and other sealing elements. The FFKM material (Perfluoroelastomer) is currently the most chemically resistant elastomer. We offer O-rings in more than 20 variants of FFKM. Selected variants are FDA certified.

  • It combines the elastic properties of rubber with the exceptional chemical and temperature resistance of PTFE.
  • It also possesses excellent mechanical properties and outstanding performance in vacuum applications.
  • The material exhibits excellent resistance to acids, amines, bases, and also chlorine-containing media and solvents.
  • It also excels in excellent temperature resistance, where the standard compound can be used up to temperatures of 270°C.
  • The most heat-resistant compound can be applied for temperatures up to 330°C (short-term up to 350°C).
  • Thanks to its properties, it has a very long lifespan.

It is typically used primarily in the chemical industry and in contact with petroleum products. Common applications include use in pumps, valves, pressure vessels, engines, fittings, and many other applications. It also finds its use in the energy, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

FFKM is intended for use wherever the most demanding requirements are placed on the material.

  • The elastomer is available in more than 20 different variants in hardnesses of 60 – 90 Sh.A.
  • The individual variants differ in their temperature resistance, behavior at different temperatures, chemical resistance, and other properties.
  • Selected types are FDA certified and can therefore be used in the food industry.
  • The table below lists the technical parameters of the most commonly used types.
  • The material is most commonly used for the production of O-rings, but other sealing elements can be custom-made upon request – for example, flat gaskets, seals, and others.

  • For material sheets of individual FFKM variants, please contact us.
  • Compared to O-rings made from common materials (e.g., NBR70), the cost of FFKM material is significantly higher.
  • For this reason, it is sometimes advisable to first test the suitability of the size with an O-ring made from other materials and only after this test proceed to use an FFKM ring.
